4th of July Fireworks in and Around Columbus:: 2016

4th of July will soon be here!  Columbus sure knows how to celebrate!  Many communities offer more than just fireworks.  You’ll find parades, bands, food trucks and activities.  Check out all of the fun festivities happening for the 4th!

4th of July Fireworks in Columbus

Notes: If you don’t want to fight the crowds, get close enough to the action and find a park or other open spot to watch the fireworks in the sky.  Be sure to use the links to double check the information to make sure there haven’t been any changes.

Where: Village Green Park (47 Hall Street)

When: Friday, June 24 & Saturday, June 25

Fireworks: 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 25

Activities: Lots of food and drink options, live entertainment and a Kid Zone with more than a dozen rides, games and activities.

Friday- Bands:: 5 p.m. Temple Monkey, 7 p.m. Pearl River Band, 9 p.m. Reaganomics

Saturday- Entertainment beginning at noon and continues until the 8 p.m Bone Journey show.

Red, White and Boom!

This is Ohio’s largest firework display.

Where: Downtown

When: Friday, July 1

Fireworks: 10:00 p.m.

Activities: Children’s Park (noon-8 p.m.) will have inflatables, COSI on Wheels, Face Painters and more.  Taste of Boom (3-11 p.m.) will feature some of Columbus’ top restaurants where you can buy food and drinks while listening to music.  Lots of live bands throughout the day on several different stages.  A one-mile parade begins at 6 p.m.

Reynoldsburg

Where: Civic Park

When: Friday, July 1st

Fireworks: 9:45 p.m.

Activities: food trucks, inflatables and live entertainment (close at 9:00 p.m.)

Patriotic Pops and Fireworks

Where: Columbus Commons

When: Saturday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m.

Activities: Listen to patriotic songs performed by Columbus Symphony Orchestra

Johnstown

Bands: Rhythm and Blues bands begin at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Johnstown Monroe High School

When: Sunday, July 3rd

Fireworks: 9:30 p.m.

Newark

Where: Martha Grace Ampitheatre on the shared campus of Ohio State Newark and Central Ohio Technical College

When: Sunday, July 3rd beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Fireworks: dusk

Activities: 6:30 p.m. Sticks and Stones, 8:00 p.m. The Heisey Wind Ensemble

Whitehall

Where: John Bishop Park

When: Sunday, July 3rd

Fireworks: 10:00 p.m.

Activities: live music, games for kids and food.

Dublin

Parade: 11 a.m. Metro Center through Historic Dublin

Where: Dublin Coffman High School Stadium *Wristband required for entry

When: Monday, July 4 from 4:30-10:15 p.m.

Fireworks: 9:50 p.m.

Activities: Dublin is known for the artists that perform.  The headliners this year are Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and KC and the Sunshine Band.

Hilliard

Parade: 10 a.m.

Where: Roger A. Reynold’s Memorial Park (3800 Veterans Memorial Drive)

When: Monday, July 4th

Fireworks: dusk

Activities: Rides, food, games and more!  Elvis Tribute band will play from 5-7 p.m. in Hilliard’s Station Park.  KPS Band will play at 6 p.m. at Roger A. Reynold’s Memorial Park.

Upper Arlington

Parade: 9 a.m. (Starts at the intersection of Northwest Blvd. and Zollinger Rd and continues across Lane Avenue to the intersection of Northwest Blvd. and North Star Road.

Where: Northam Park (2070 Northam Road)

When: Monday, July 4

Fireworks: 10 p.m.

Activities: Party in the Park begins at 5 p.m.

Westerville

Parade: 1 p.m. begins moving south on State through Uptown Westerville and ending at Electric Ave.  *Bring boxed and canned food items for a Food Drive.

Where: Westerville South High School

When: Monday, July 4th

Fireworks: Dusk (approximately 10 p.m.) Fireworks will be simulcast with 104.9 The River.

Activities: 3 p.m. food trucks and food cars, 3:30 p.m. Westerville symphony, 5:00 p.m. Musician John Reichle, 6:15 p.m. Hurricane Jerry & the Stormfront, 8 p.m. McGuffey Lane

Worthington

Where: Thomas Worthington High School front lawn (300 W. Dublin Granville Rd.)

When: Monday, July 4 from 4:00-11:00 p.m.

Fireworks: 10 p.m.

Activities: Food, live musical entertainment, Supergames and more!  Bring your own lawn chairs and blanket and enjoy the family picnic.

Gahanna

Parade: 10:30 a.m. Parade begins at Clark Hall, heads west on Granville Street and ends at Stygler Rd.

Where: Creekside Park and olde Gahanna will have activities from 5:00-9:00 p.m. The fireworks will be at the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course.  The golf course opens for viewing at 8:00 p.m.

When: Monday, July 4

Fireworks: 10 p.m.

Activities: Live music and family activities will take place throughout Creekside Park.

Grove City

Where: Grove City Football Stadium

When: Monday, July 4 (rain date: July 5)

Fireworks: 9:50 p.m.

Activities: Music and fun will take place before the fireworks at the Grove City Football Stadium and there will be family activities at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene

Pickerington

Parade: 6 p.m.

Where: Victory Park

When: Monday, July 4

Fireworks: 10:00 p.m.

Activities: Park opens at 4:00 p.m.  Enjoy parade, rides, live music, food and end the evening with fireworks.

Bexley

Parade: 9:30 a.m. The 2.8-mile parade route starts at Maryland Avenue/Remington Road and ending at Fair Avenue and Cassingham.

Where: Capital University

When: Monday, July 4

Fireworks: 10:00 p.m.

Activities: Music, food, and family events begin at 6:00 p.m.
