The New Faces of Plain City

My husband and I moved to Plain City the summer of 2016 before welcoming our first little babe. We have grown to love this little town and all of its timeless treasures but it seems to be that everyone is starting to move in too! With the new Costco built on Industrial Pkwy and new stores going up right next door within the next year, Plain City has been getting a few major upgrades. Houses are being repainted, new and younger residents are planting roots; yes, Plain City is all aboard on the “Up and Coming” train.

Buckeye Brass & Winds: A small music shop that “specializes in repairs and [professional] equipment.” They sell quality brass and wind instruments along with repairing damaged instruments. Buckeye Brass and Winds bring music to our sweet little town and will be holding two upcoming events in October.

Tubist Mike Forbes

There will be a recital with tuba player Mike Forbes on October 7th from 2-4 pm and October 28th is the 10th-anniversary celebration! Between 10 am and 8 pm representatives from Conn-Selmer and Buffet will be at Buckeye Brass and Winds talking about their instruments. They will also have additional instruments and accessories from the other brands they offer. Mark those dates on your calendar so you don’t miss out! You can connect with Buckeye Brass and Winds on Facebook and Instagram

City Salt SpaEver heard of salt therapy? I had no idea this was even a thing until I moved to Plain City and I am so excited that I heard about it! Salt therapy can help treat and lessen a wide range of respiratory issues, skin irritations, and help clear a stressed mind. This little spa is run by a mom who’s motivation was finding natural ways to help her son’s chronic ear and sinus infections. It is the “first Central Ohio Halotherapy Spa” right in the heart of Main Street. Sessions include single, couple, and family options. Perfect for a date night! Learn about some of the benefits and research of salt therapy with City Salt Spa on Facebook and Instagram.

Plain City shopsWillow and Twine: With the sad news that Chip and Joanna Gaines are rounding out their time on HGTV, now is the time to stock up on the country chic! Willow and Twine as it all and more! Distressed windows, cotton ball vase fillers, chalk paint, and all of the farmhouse signage. Willow and Twine will also paint furniture pieces you bring into them. Their paint colors are amazing! Fun fact about their store: in a previous life it was once the city bank! The old vault now displays all the beautiful jewelry they sell. You can find Red Giraffe Designs, Daisy Mae Design, and so much more in that vault! Mackenzie, the owner, was so kind enough to send over a coupon just for our readers. It’s only available for a limited time! Also be sure to give Willow and Twine a follow on Facebook and Instagram to see design inspirations and new product.

Anchored Arrow Boutique: Ok so Anchored Arrow is a little different compared to the other new faces of Plain City. They have not officially opened yet BUT they are anxiously and eagerly renovating their store location so they can display and sell the cutest boutique style clothing. Give them a follow on Instagram and Facebook to stay updated on their opening. Take a look at these teaser pictures of some of the items you can expect to find in their store!

Each of these stores can be found along Main street and all are within walking distance of each other. There is ample free parking all over uptown, perfect for exploring historic Plain City along with these new faces. Plain City has the ultimate small town, homey feel and these new stores have captured that nature perfectly. The city is growing though, I think Central Ohio will be seeing even more greatness coming out of this favorited small town!
