NORTH

Freeman’s Farm – Galena, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  No.
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required?  No.
  • Open Daily?  No.  Six weekends beginning September 24th
  • Know Before You Go: Freeman’s was closed in 2015 so many people will assume that is the case for 2017 as well. Enjoy being “in the know” that they are, in fact, going to open this year!  Happy news!

Hidden Creek Farms – Sunbury, Ohio

  • Pre-Picked?  YES!

  • Admission required?  YES!  Pumpkins are inside the gated area so admission is required for activities and pumpkin market.

Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm – Radnor, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  YES!
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required? No. All day activity bands available for $8.
  • Open daily? YES, 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. during the week (limited activities open, see the list: weeknight activities).  10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  On Friday, October 13th they are open from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
  • Know before you go:  Concessions available!

Miller’s Country Gardens – Delaware, Ohio

  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required? No.
  • Open daily? YES!
  • Know before you go:  It’s free!  Even the activities!  But check out their market for fresh and yummy produce and baked goods.

SOUTH

Circle S Farms – Grove City, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  YES!
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required? No. Activity wristband available for purchase.
  • Open daily? YES!  9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. daily.
  • Know before you go:  Concessions available.  Call to confirm schedule because the website has 2016 information listed.

Renick’s Family Market  – Ashville, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  YES!  And, all you can carry for one flat rate.  How fun!
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES! Live music, face painting, and lots more on the weekends!  
  • Admission required? No.
  • Open daily? YES!  Beginning August 24th, 11:00 – 6:00 daily; 12:00 – 6:00 Sundays
  • Know before you go:  Market has cute country decor and yummy food available on the weekends.  

Dill’s Greenhouse  – Groveport, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  No.
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES! A 5-acre corn maze, sandbox, indoor straw maze, scenic tractor pull, games, activities and fire pit (bring your own hotdogs and S’mores or buy from them.)
  • Admission required? $8 per person.
  • Open daily? No!  Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Open Friday, October 13th from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., weather permitting. (Weekdays- groups only with reservations.)
  • Know before you go:  Bring hotdogs and marshmallows and roast them over the fire. Dill’s will provide the roasting sticks. You can also buy hotdogs and S’mores kits from Dill’s. 

EAST

Hendren Farm Market – Johnstown/New Albany (really, north and east of Columbus)

  • U-Pick?  YES!
  • Pre-Picked? YES!
  • Fall activities? YES!  Mazes, games, and more!
  • Admission required?  No.  
  • Open daily? YES!  Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 6:00; Sunday 12:00 noon – 5:00

Pigeon Roost – Hebron, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  No. (Lots of pumpkins are brought from the fields and displayed in the barnyard area so there’s a good variety to pick from.)
  • Pre-Picked? YES!
  • Fall activities? YES!  Tons of farm fun here!
  • Admission required?  Admission only for farm activities.  The pumpkin patch is free.
  • Open daily? YES!  But, Closed Mondays.  September 16 – October 31, 2017; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lynd’s Fruit Farm – Pataskala, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  YES!
  • Pre-Picked?  Yes!  Many pre-picked pumpkins and gourds available in their market.
  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required? Only for farm activities.
  • Open daily? YES!  Activities only available on the weekends.

Jacquemin Farms

Kuhlweins Farm Market  – Hilliard, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  YES!
  • Pre-Picked? YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!  A huge maze as well as other farm activities here.
  • Admission required? Yes!  $10 includes a hayride to patch and one pumpkin per person.  Fall activities also included.
  • Open daily?  No. Weekends only.
  • Know before you go:  Call to confirm schedule and hours.  There is a great deli on site.

The Maize at Little Darby Creek – Milford Center, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  YES!
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required? Yes!
  • Open daily? No. Friday Nights – Sunday Nights only. Open September 16-October 29, 2017. (Closing at 5:00 p.m. on 9/23 and open on 10/13 at 12:00 p.m.)
  • Know before you go: The 9-acre corn maze is amazing! There’s a shorter path and a longer one. Also, the haunted path: Field of Fright is open at dark.

  • U-Pick? Not pumpkins, but there are U-Pick apples.
  • Pre-Picked? YES!
  • Fall Activities? YES!
  • Admission required? YES!  Adults & Children- $10, Seniors- $5, Under 2-Free.  Fishing and Gem Mining are extra. A farm pass is not required to pick apples.
  • Open daily? No. Saturdays and Sundays only September 10-October 30th from 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • Know before you go: This is a picturesque location, so bring your camera to capture some fall photos. There are lots of live animals and several activities for children.

DeMonye’s Greenhouse – Columbus, Ohio

  • U-Pick?  No.
  • Pre-Picked?  No. But, kids get a pumpkin to take home with admission to the fall activities.
  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required? Only for farm activities.
  • Open daily? YES!
  • Know before you go:  Ok, so this one really isn’t a pumpkin patch, but it is too cute not to share! And, it’s inside!

Further From Columbus

Young’s Jersey Dairy– Yellow Springs, Ohio (about an hour west of Columbus)

  • U-Pick?  Yes.
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!
  • Admission required? No.  You can purchase three or five-tab wristbands and select which activities you want to do.
  • Open daily? YES!
  • Know before you go:  The food and homemade ice cream are wonderful!  There are lots of activities to keep you busy and things for older kids too like a driving range and mini-golf course.  Young’s Jersey Dairy also has lots of different events throughout the year, so be sure to check the schedule.

Honey Haven Farm – Ashland, Ohio (about an hour north of Columbus)

  • U-Pick?  Yes.  And, a horse drawn wagon ride to the field!
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!  Pumpkin slingshot, corn cannon, corn maze, straw maze, barnyard zoo
  • Admission required? No.  Each activity has a minimal cost
  • Open daily? No.  Fridays 3:00 – 7:00; Saturday 10:00 – 7:00; Sunday 12:00 noon – 6:00
  • Know before you go:  Market with lots of yummy treats like pumpkin ice cream!

Bonnybrook Farms – Clarksville, Ohio (between Columbus and Cincinnati- 20 minutes East of Kings Island)

  • U-Pick?  Yes. 
  • Pre-Picked?  YES!
  • Fall activities?  YES!  Adventure wagon ride, corn maze, farm animals, giant slingshots, archery, and golf.
  • Admission required? No.  These are the free activities: admission, parking, farmyard play area, Horseshoe Hill with tunnel and 80′ underground slide. Other activities have a cost. You can buy a wristband or purchase tickets.
  • Open daily? No. Saturdays and Sundays; September 30-October 29 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. / Lantern Light Wagon Ride & Corn Maze on select Saturday night evenings from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
  • Know before you go:  There’s a Farm Cafe Kitchen serving food and desserts.

 Ohio Station Outlets– Lodi, Ohio (between Columbus and Cleveland)

  • U-Pick? No.
  • Pre-Picked? Yes!
  • Fall activities? Take a quick train ride and pick out a pumpkin.
  • Admission Required? Yes! Ages 12 months and under $2.00, all others $6.00. Train Ride only, $4.00.
  • Open daily? No. Every Saturday and Sunday in October (including September 30th) from noon-5 pm.

  1. Thanks for a great post. We are looking for a pumpkin farm that would interest our 9 yr old granddaughter. She has been going to various farms since she could walk. Some seem geared for the younger set. Are there any you (or anyone) would recommend for “tweens?”

    • Hi Linda! So glad you’ve found the post helpful. The MAiZe at Little Darby Creek has things for all ages, but has several activities such as laser tag, paint ball and a more challenging corn maze that tweens would enjoy. At night they even have a haunted corn maze. Pigeon Roost has a ton of activities and you could spend hours here. The hayride is nice, there’s a corn maze, spooky forest with a Ninja Warrior course, lots of animals, basketball, great photo opportunities and more!
