Holiday Teacher Gifts- What They Really Want

Before we know it school with be out for the holidays, and believe it or not your child’s teacher is just as thrilled as your child! The few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas bring on added stress with parties, projects, and the struggle to keep overly excited pupils focused before officially calling it quits before the break. Gift cards or certificates are by far the best-ranked gifts that any teacher could ever receive!

SUPERSTORES

Gift cards to places like Target, Wal-mart, or Amazon are ideal for teachers because they carry a wide variety of items for either personal use or for the classroom. If being the favorite student was such a thing, I’m sure that giving the gift of an Amazon Prime subscription would definitely put your child in that category.

MOVIE AND DINNER

Perhaps a NETFLIX or FANDANGO gift card. I mean what teacher wouldn’t love catching a movie at no cost to them over their extended break, or even the possibility of saving money to either extend or start a membership? Be creative and consider putting the gift card in a popcorn box with added candy.

If you are really in the giving spirit, there is always the option of gifting both a dinner and a movie. OpenTable offers gift cards (credit must be made used via OpenTable) to over 3500+ restaurants to choose from.

OFFICE SUPPLY

As we know, teachers spend their own money on supplies for their classroom from decorations and Kleenexes to dry erase markers. Giving a gift card to Staples or OfficeMax would definitely take the load off of your child’s teacher’s pockets.

SALON OR SPA

A free massage and/or Mani and Pedi, well of course! What teacher wouldn’t want to be pampered during a much needed and well-deserved break? For the teacher who prefers to relax in a different form and fashion, maybe gifting a gift card to a ball game, yoga class (check your local yoga studios), live entertainment, electronic store or sporting goods store would tickle their fancy.

BOOKSTORE

Most teachers love a good book. Why not a bookstore gift card? It can be used for personal use, for the classroom or maybe even the option to use it for both. Tuck the book inside a nice canvas tote bag.

HOT AND COLD DRINKS

You can NEVER go wrong with getting a Starbucks gift card. With a wide variety of hot and cold beverages, and even food, there are a plethora of options to choose from. This would even give them the option to purchase a new rambler or tumbler, if they so desire.

LOCAL GIFT IDEAS OR GIFT CARDS

Consider supporting a local business or brand with one of these great ideas: Holiday Gift Guide

Food is a big part of the holiday season and this list has a wide variety of gift ideas in all price ranges: Gifts for the Columbus Foodie

We are all busy and even though giving a gift card might seem like the easy way out, teachers will appreciate the freedom to choose what they will REALLY use!
