CrossChx:: A Must Have Mobile App for Your Family’s Health Care Needs

0
We've partnered with CrossChx to give an honest opinion about the new app two of our writers tried.

Have you ever walked into a doctor’s office, frantically searched through your diaper bag to find the insurance card or vaccination records only to realize you left them at home?

Have you ever moved across the country and had to start over with pediatricians and dentists and primary care physicians? The endless paperwork and organization of appointments can be overwhelming.

That’s why we’re so thrilled to talk a little bit about a new app, based right here in Columbus, that can solve these problems for you and so much more. The CrossChx central office is located downtown in our city, and is committed to improving your life through their app which stores all your medical documents in one place, thus reducing paper clutter, and helping those of us who suffer from the well-known “mommy brain.” CrossChx constantly improves their one-of-a-kind app based on user feedback and, in fact, has weekly updates to the app to make it more helpful!

We’re two moms who knew there had to be a better way to help keep track of our families’ health records and insurance information, so we decided to try CrossChx and tell you all about our experience.

Here are some answers to the questions we thought you’d likely have about using this new mobile application, and how it can truly make your life easier:

Q: What is CrossChx and where do I find it?

A: CrossChx is a free app that was created right here in downtown Columbus, and is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play by searching “CrossChx Connect.” The app allows you to securely sign in to all your healthcare appointments, for you and your family members, through your smartphone to connect to the doctors, clinics, and hospitals in your network.

That’s right – you can say goodbye to filling out the same paper forms (and giving the same info over and over again!). You also don’t have to worry about losing or forgetting valuable health records – it goes where you go.

Q: What was your experience like using the app?

A:   Andrea: The first thing I noticed was that the app is super user-friendly! The interface is welcoming and fun, and it’s so easy to add demographics and health information about yourself and all the members of your family. I didn’t have any upcoming appointments, so I visited the CrossChx office in Columbus to try out their “virtual” experience for checking in to an appointment. It’s as easy as opening the app and scanning a barcode with a tablet that is set up at the front desk of your doctor’s office. You’re then checked in for your appointment, and don’t have to fill out any paperwork because the office has access to all of your information. Super easy, especially with little ones in tow!

Julie: I never realized how much I needed this app until I started using it. My family just moved to Columbus and I’ve been making doctor’s appointments everywhere. The past three months were essentially starting from scratch. And it has been exhausting. Once I started using the CrossChx app, things got so much easier. I didn’t need to call my husband in the middle of the day begging for his social security number. I didn’t have to email the doctor’s office back in Florida asking about our son’s last vaccination. It was all right there, for our entire family. Lifesaver!

Q: What would you tell someone who is considering using the app?

A:   Andrea: There is no doubt I would recommend the CrossChx app. It’s useful for anyone, but especially moms who are going to various appointments for multiple kids. Since they are constantly working to improve the user experience, I was also able to speak to one of the developers about upcoming changes. Soon, you will be able to use your app to “talk” to another family member’s CrossChx app. For example, if you are making an appointment for your partner or if you are caring for another adult like your parent, you will soon be able to connect through the app and send information to each other, making it even more useful!

Julie: If you are looking for a way to streamline your life in general or in finding a way to simplify this particular part of your life, give it a try. It’s so much easier than paper records and definitely saves you time. I highly recommend the CrossChx app and I’ll definitely continue using it.
