U-Pick Berry Farms in and Near Central Ohio

1

It seems like Columbus has so many great strawberry farms to visit for the kickoff of summer! But did you know there are more berries to be picked?! Don’t forget about blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries too. Most of the U-Pick Berry Farms listed below are just a short drive from Columbus and could make a great day trip! Each farm offers a variety of berries, while others specialize in just one type. Due to the wet spring we had this year, berries seem to be slightly behind schedule.

The blueberry season usually starts the middle of June through the end of June. Raspberries and blackberries will be ready mid- July. The farm websites below provide the kickoff dates and will be updated as the juicy goodness is ready to be picked. Be sure to call and/or visit their sites BEFORE you go as dates change and varieties sell out as they are picked.

Raspberries and Blackberries will be ready at the beginning of August. Also, a stop at Little Buckeye Children’s Museum or a ride on a hand-carved carousel at Richland Carrousel Park would make a super stop.

It is a wonderful job to work along her sister and help families with their precious little ones in a vulnerable time period. In between the night shifts, sweeping up crumbs, exploring Columbus, and getting kids to where they need to be, Maureen enjoys working out, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, spending time with family, being crafty and trying to help others whenever she can! Maureen has many Columbus favorites. Her go-to restaurant is Third and Hollywood, she enjoys a sweet treat at Sassafrass Bakery or Fox in the Snow, a slice of pizza at Dewey's Pizza and a warm cup of joe at Highline Coffee. A perfect Saturday involves an outdoor activity with her family and trying a new restaurant when they can! She is excited to be a part of an excellent team here at Columbus Moms blog and hopes to be able to inspire mothers that small acts of kindness go a long way in raising their kids and the city they live in!
