I recently ordered my pair of Westend Grandview Heights frames, and in honor of their namesake, I’m going to share some of my favorite, family-friendly spots to hang out in Grandview Heights and neighboring, Victorian Village!

Grandview Heights

EAT: Sweet Carrot

1417 W 5th Ave., Columbus, OH 43212

Sweet Carrot

Sweet Carrot is a great, family-friendly option for dining out in Grandview! You can have your BBQ three ways: on a corn cake, a buttered roll or on top of macaroni and cheese! Kids meal options include a choice of side and drink! And to make it even better, you can get one free kid’s meal with each purchase of an adult meal on Tuesdays! (Valid for kids 10 and under.) The Grandview Heights location has a nice patio and while you’re there, don’t miss their yummy desserts!

PLAY: Wyman Woods Park

1515 Goodale Blvd, Grandview Heights, OH 43212

Wyman Woods Park

This is a great park for a wide range of ages. There are a lot of climbing options, baby swings, a tall slide, a multi-person swing and a volleyball court. There are restrooms on site and free wi-fi!

SWEET: Jeni’s Ice Cream

1281 Grandview Ave, Grandview Heights, OH 43212

Jeni's ice cream

You can’t skip this classic Grandview spot: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams! This location has indoor and outdoor seating and there is a large parking lot in the back. After you grab your ice cream cone, stroll up and down Grandview Avenue hitting up some fun spots like The Candle Lab and Cub Shrub!

Victorian Village

EAT: Northstar

951 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43201

One of the easiest spots for the whole family to eat at in the Short North is Northstar! There is a great patio here as well and the Kids Menu in the Short North includes (but is not limited to) New Yorker Pizza, a White Cheddar Quesadilla, Little Buddha Bowl and breakfast options until 11:00 AM on the weekdays and 3:00 PM on the weekends.

PLAY: Goodale Park

120 W. Goodale St., Columbus, OH 43215

Goodale Park

The heart of Victorian Village is in Goodale Park! With a pond, gazebo, tennis courts, a shelter house and two play areas, the park is always full of activity! The playground area has recently been renovated and there are large trees for shade and a pavilion for picnics. Make sure to take a walk around the pond to check out the The Goodale Park Fountain which features two elephants sitting on top, spraying out water from their trunks!

SWEET: Hey Puddin’

685 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43215

One of the newest spots for sweets in Victorian Village and the Short North is Hey Puddin’ Dessert Bar and it features bread puddings, ice cream sandwiches, aguas frescas and cobblers! The dessert bar is tucked into the back of Westies Tavern and is open Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
