November is here! November is a month full of gratitude and we hope you can find some joy throughout this month and be with those you are thankful for in your life! From craft markets to outdoor events, along with Veterans Day and Thanksgiving activities, this month is full of fun!

Through January 7: Barbie Exhibit at COSI: From career dolls to real-world role models, Barbie has been inspiring girls since 1959-and she isn’t done yet! In Barbie™ You Can Be Anything™: The Experience, you can explore new dreams.

Through November 11: The Sleepwalker of Holstenwall: This is a 60 minute interactive, immersive theatre recommended for ages 8+.

November 2-19: Good Grief: Various times at Riffe Center | Inspired by the controversy surrounding the play God of Vengeance by Sholem Asch, which was produced on Broadway in 1923.

November 3: Taste of the Market in Dublin: The exciting return of the Taste of the Market Gala event serves as one of the main fundraising events that North Market Bridge Park hosts each year.

November 3: Family Night: 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at The Worthington Community Center | Unplug and connect with your loved ones at Family Night hosted by the Worthington Community Center. Kids of all ages are guaranteed to enjoy our FREE family-friendly activities, including open gyms, themed crafts, games, and passive play. It’s the perfect way to usher in the weekend!

November 3-5: Women Who Know: A Witch Play: Tale of two women who’s names are known to history only because they were murdered as witches. But what were their lives like? How did they navigate their increasingly misogynistic society? How did they fight back? Come see in this play!

November 4: Home Depot Kids DIY Workshop: Make a scarecrow napkin holder this month! 

November 4: Worthington Farmers’ Market: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | The market remains outside until December 16!

November 4: Holly Day Bazaar: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in Westerville | The 34th Holly Day Bazaar has expanded to include nearly 50 talented artisans & makers in addition to our popular Raffle Baskets, Children’s Gift Shoppe (Secret Santa), Cafe, and pictures with Santa! $3 entry includes a raffle ticket (12 and under free) ~ bring a non-perishable food for @Westerville Area Resource Ministry for an extra raffle tic!

November 4: Dia De Los Muertos: Regular hours at Columbus Museum of Art| Celebrate the rich origins of Día de los Muertos at CMA with day-long offerings to connect, and honor our loved ones who have departed. Enjoy $5 admission for members all day; children 3 and under are free.

November 4-5: Yoga with Sloths: After the class, treat yourself to a light snack and a complimentary mimosa (ages 21 and over only). Explore our sloth-themed raffle and see a sloth up-close after your yoga session! Each ticket purchase includes a complimentary t-shirt that will be given to you at the event.

November 5: Veteran’s Day Parade: 2:00 p.m. in Hilliard | Special celebration in Hilliard for our Veterans.

November 5: Free Community Days: Come out to the Franklin Park Conservatory for a free Sunday!

November 5: Blanket Making at Ronald McDonald House: 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. |Children will make blankets, cards, and worry dolls to provide comfort to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House with Seeds of Caring.

November 6: Candy Surgery: 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Chocolate-covered licorice? Skittles candy pieces buried in Reese’s peanut butter cups? Explore undiscovered tastes and textures as you dissect and assemble new confections. For ages 6-11.

November 7: Family Fun Night: Spy Training: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Worthington Park Library | Enjoy some quality time at the library! Themed events are the perfect way to bring everyone together.

November 7: Kids Sugar Cookie and Decorating Contest: Dublin and Hilliard schools are closed. Come make fall cookies that look like real leaves using our marble and royal icing embroidery techniques. You’ll color, roll, cut, bake, and decorate sugar cookies frosted with royal icing accents. Take home recipes and about a dozen cookies. Additional dough is available for purchase to take home. $12/lb. Basic Decorating Kit available for purchase.

November 10: Family Night: 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at The Worthington Community Center | Unplug and connect with your loved ones at Family Night hosted by the Worthington Community Center. November 10: Books and Brews: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at Old Worthington Library | This Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries fundraiser will feature great craft beer samples, catered appetizers, silent auction packages, a fun trivia contest and more!

November 10 & 11: Lion King Jr.: 7:00 p.m. at Hilliard Station Sixth Grade Auditorium | The Hilliard Middle Schools have teamed up for the production of Lion King Jr.

November 11: Worthington Farmers’ Market: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | The market moves into the Shops at Worthington for the winter season. Come check it out!

November 11 Harvest Market at Bridge Park: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. |Shop handpicked vendors to fill your bag with fall and seasonal favorites. Enjoy fresh produce, sweet treats, live entertainment, a caramel apple building station and more at the Harvest Market.

November 11: Morning Chores at Slate Run Farm: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. | Kids can feed the animals and help with other barnyard chores. Registration is required.

November 11: Friends of UA Parks Volunteer Day: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Fancyburg Park | Join Friends of UA Parks to assist with invasive plant control and tree planting projects. If you enjoy working outside, are looking for some exercise, or want to get involved in a worthwhile community service project, this is the group for you.

November 11: WOSU Kids Day at Columbus Museum of Art: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Games, coloring, a caricature artist, meet and greet with Alma from Alma’s Way. Registration is required.

November 11: Veteran’s Day Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. | Come to the National Veterans Memorial Museum for the ceremony and free admission.

November 11: STEM Fest: 11:00 a.m. at The Works | Check out this STEAM day fest with hands-on activities from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

November 11: Miracle on Lancaster Street: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Carriage rides, cookie decorating, caroling, special deals at local businesses and visits with Santa.

November 11: S’mores at Blendon Woods: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Come roast marshmallows and learn about how animals prepare for winter.

November 11:  The Underwater Bubble Tour: A mesmerizing blend of drama, mime, dance, puppetry, juggling, contortionism, sand art, and magic.

November 12: Fall Craft at Battelle Darby Creek: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Create  a craft with fallen leaves!

November 12: Promusica Family Concert at Main Library| 3:00 p.m. | Family-friendly concert!

November 13: Cookie Decorating with Plenty O’Smiles: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | Plenty O’Smiles of Plenty O’ Cookies, will guide you through the art of cookie decorating. The class theme is Thanksgiving, where she’ll show you how to decorate cookies that will wow your guests.

November 16-18: Christmas Corner: 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, and 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at The Franklin County Fairgrounds | Free admission and 65-holiday craft booths! Three days again this year!

November 16-18: Mean Girls High School Version: Put on by the New Albany High School!

November 17: Bake Sale at The Ronald Mcdonald House: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at RMC | Buy baked goods from local bakers and support charity! You can pre-order the famous pumpkin rolls too!

November 17: Chick-fil-A-Fall Festival: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Come to Hilliard to experience face painting, games, giveaways, and more!

November 17: Zoo Lights Opens!:  5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. | This event includes millions of LED lights, musical light shows, Rudolph in 4D, meet and greet characters, and more!

November 17: Easton’s Grand Illumination: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Live music, a visit from Santa, a carol sing-along, and two million lights!

November 18: Girls on the Run: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at The Columbus Commons | Each season comes to an end with a celebratory 5K. This closing event gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment.

November 24: Black Christmas Expo: At the Columbus Airport Marriott on Friday and Saturday!

November 24: Learn About Thanksgiving: 11:00 a.m. -3:00 pm.  | Come to Slate Run Farm to learn about this special holiday!

November 24: Create A Gingerbread House: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Spend a sweet day with friends and family creating a mini house with graham crackers, icing and candy.

November 24: Holiday Bazaar: 3:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. | Enjoy the Licking Country Courthouse Lighting after too!

November 24-26: A Christmas Carol: CAPA, along with its partners at Short North Stage, will bring to life a brand-new, original production of the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol, at the Ohio Theatre on Thanksgiving weekend

November 24: Lucy Depp Park Light Show: Located in Powell and this light show covers 6 houses, 7 1/2 acres, and 40,000 lights! Runs Sunday- Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on weekends. Runs until New Year’s Day. Keeps getting bigger each year!

November 24-December 30, 2023: Clifton Mill Lights: 5:00 p.m. | Legendary! Clifton Mill truly is a delight and beautiful to see in person. (Closes at 8 pm on Christmas Eve and Christmas.)

November 24: Dazzling Christmas Lights in Westerville: 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | First night for the show! The display is one house with over 100,000 Dazzling Christmas Lights that dance to music. Tune your car radio to 90.1 fm. and bring can food items for Warm. You can also play the music from your phone this year too. The display runs November 25 to December 31 Sunday-Thursday 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. to 11 p.m- weather dependent. This is a free event all season long.

November 25: Home Depot Kids DIY Workshop: Make a holiday penguin ornament at the end of this month! 

November 25-26: Hoover Garden Holiday Open House: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hoover Garden Center | Warm yourself with hot chocolate and cookies as you are surrounded by the wonder of Christmas. The lights and smells will take you back to the days when excitement filled the air in anticipation of Christmas Day! Grinch makes an appearance, paint your own ornament and J Meatball food truck will be on the grounds!

November 26: Worthington Holiday Open House: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. | Holiday-themed activities, a visit from Santa and more! Stay tuned for more details.

Maureen Ingham
Maureen Ingham has enjoyed living in the great city of Columbus for nearly 13 years! Originally from Canton, Ohio, Maureen attended Ohio University and will always be a bobcat at heart! After completing her education degree in Athens, she made her way to The Ohio State University to obtain a Masters degree in Special Education. She fell in love with Columbus then and convinced her now husband to join her in this awesome city! She taught 5th grade for 6 years, before deciding to stay home to raise two beautiful girls. Their family has recently moved to Worthington with their two girls and are excited to plant their roots here! Their first daughter, Maeve is 6 and her sister, Reese will soon be 5 years old. They welcomed a son, Miles in March 2020. Maureen has been with The Columbus Moms Blog since the beginning and now enjoys working on editing and events for the blog. She also works as a Postpartum Doula with her sister at a company called Together Wee Grow. They provide night nursing services, as well as daytime support to local families and babies in Columbus. It is a wonderful job to work along her sister and help families with their precious little ones in a vulnerable time period. In between the night shifts, sweeping up crumbs, exploring Columbus, and getting kids to where they need to be, Maureen enjoys working out, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, spending time with family, being crafty and trying to help others whenever she can! Maureen has many Columbus favorites. Her go-to restaurant is Third and Hollywood, she enjoys a sweet treat at Sassafrass Bakery or Fox in the Snow, a slice of pizza at Dewey's Pizza and a warm cup of joe at Highline Coffee. A perfect Saturday involves an outdoor activity with her family and trying a new restaurant when they can! She is excited to be a part of an excellent team here at Columbus Moms blog and hopes to be able to inspire mothers that small acts of kindness go a long way in raising their kids and the city they live in!
