As parents, we know that time is of the essence. And that means that we don’t always have time for a four hour date night with our spouse. To save you a few extra minutes, I have put together a list of some of the best restaurants for a date night that is quick and won’t break the bank. Quick and Cheap Dinner Dates in Columbus

Yabo’s Tacos

Locations: Upper Arlington, Powell, and Westerville.

Atmosphere: Yabo’s has a casual sports bar feel with food truck style tacos. There are TVs playing sports on every wall, so you won’t miss a play while you’re elbow deep in queso.

Price: Tacos start at $2.95, and nothing is above $10.

Not to be missed: The “chips and trio” comes with salsa, guac, and queso and makes the perfect starter while you decide how many tacos you can eat. The “retro beer” of the day starts at $2 a pint!

Dewey’s Pizza

Location: Grandview, Dublin, and Worthington.

Atmosphere: Dewey’s has an upscale pizza parlor feel, complete with a view of the hand tossed pizza kitchen. Dewey’s has an impressive list of handpicked beers and wines to sip on while you peruse the menu for your perfect pie.

Price: Pizzas start at $8.95 and salads start at $5.25.

Not to be missed: The candied walnut and grape salad is so delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the rich pizzas! Dewey’s offers half and half pizza, so try the Ryan’s Inferno and the Southwest BBQ Chicken.

The Olive Tree – Mediterranean Café

Location: Hilliard

Atmosphere: The Olive Tree has an open dining room with a view of the kitchen grill. It has a comfortable feel as if you were eating at a friend’s house. The staff is just as friendly as the environment, with Mediterranean food that will knock your socks off.

Price: Apps start at $3 and entrees average about $12. Most wraps and sandwiches are about $6.

Not to be missed: The Olive tree-o with hummus, baba ganoush, and spicy feta! Share a baklava before you leave!

Local Cantina

Locations: Grandview, Arena District, Hilliard, Gahanna, and Clintonville

Atmosphere: Local Cantina has an eclectic décor with a Mexican vibe. Seat yourself and enjoy the get-it-yourself chips and salsa. Sip one of their margaritas, or have a specialty beer while you decide how many tacos you can eat.

Price: $3-$9 for menu items

Not to be missed: The Margarita Menu – my favorite is the house, and the food truck style tacos, like the migas!

Local Cantina ColumbusTai’s Asian Bistro and Sushi

Location: Upper Arlington

Atmosphere: Tai’s has a separate bistro kitchen and sushi bar, so if you and your spouse can’t decide what to get, you have plenty of options here. The portions here are enormous, so this is a great place to come when you are really hungry.

Price: Entrees average about $8 for a HUGE portion.

Not to be missed: Chicken lettuce wraps and Pad Thai. The fresh salmon roll is also a delicious choice.

North Market

Location: Downtown

Atmosphere: North Market is an indoor market, like a super hipster and more delicious version of a mall food court. Perfect place to go when you and your husband can’t agree on the same restaurant! Here you won’t have any calorie regret because you’ll be spending time walking around and checking everything out.

Price: Average meal for two is approximately $20.

Not to be missed: For all you preggies – Little Eater is the last place where I ate before I went into labor, and it was delicious!! If you’re looking for some spice, try Hot Chicken Takeover and make sure to get a side of mac and cheese. Grab some fresh bakery goods or some coffee for dessert!

Giant Eagle Market District – $8 for 6 Food and Wine Pairings

Locations: Grandview, Dublin, and Upper Arlington

Atmosphere: Market District is a Market Style grocery store with live music and demonstrations during their events. Check their calendar of events to see offerings of cooking classes, beer and wine tastings, and other fun events that make for a good date night.

Price: $8 for 6 pairings of food and wine.

Not to be missed: The Gelato counter makes a perfect dessert after sampling food and wine.

Sweet Carrot

Location: Grandview

Atmosphere: Food truck turned brick and mortar, with café style seating indoors and out – A fun new place to try when you’re tired of the usual Friday night fare.

Price: Average about $8-$10 for a meal.

Not to be missed: Fried Artichoke Boat.

Location: German Village

Atmosphere: Casual Deli with patio seating. Located in picturesque German Village, this restaurant is the perfect place to sit for a meal after a stroll through the neighborhood.
