It’s More Than Just Lessons – Family Fun and Community at Goldfish Swim School

This post was sponsored by Goldfish Swim School – Dublin and Goldfish Swim School – Westerville, but all the opinions expressed here are my own.

My son loves his swim lessons at Goldfish. The high five when he enters the pool, the big smiles from his teacher each week, the games during each lesson, he loves it all.

But he’s been working on the same skill for a while now. It’s a tough skill: he needs to smoothly transition from breaststroke to floating on his back in one motion using the correct lead arm.

We don’t practice the skill outside of his lesson, so it might be a few more weeks before he really gets it. For a four-year-old, he’s doing amazing if you ask me. (He’s doing a legit breaststroke at age four!) And he doesn’t mind working on the same skill each week.

We’re perfectly happy with his progress because Goldfish Swim School is more to us than just swim lessons. Goldfish is part of our family now. Goldfish gives us a place to spend time together and have fun.

My two-year-old daughter tags along and spends time coloring, reading books, and playing with the other kids waiting for their lessons. My wife and I talk with the other parents about kids and parenting. There’s snacks, weekly prizes at the check-in counter, silly hair dryer shenanigans, and a friendly staff who gives us all a smile and a cheerful, “Hi guys!” every visit.

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy time with your family in a positive, fun-loving atmosphere, then you’ll want to attend the Family Swim Night on December 22.

Head to Goldfish Swim School for a great indoor activity to do as a family. Spend some time away from Netflix and get active in the pool. If your kids already do swim lessons, the Family Swim Night is also a great way for your kids to practice and show off the skills they’ve learned in class.

Join Goldfish Swim School on December 22 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm for a Family Night Out at Goldfish. Enjoy open swim and more. Family Swim is a first come, first serve event. Goldfish limits their pool capacity for your comfort and safety. Event cost is $5 per person or $15 max per family.

Not only is Goldfish a fun place to be with your family, but Goldfish also gives back to the community. Fresh off of the success of their Socktober charity drive, Goldfish is sponsoring a “Sweet Dreams and Stories” charity drive from December 1 to December 21. Benefitting Brightside Academy and Run the Race/Brian Muha Memorial Fund, “Sweet Dreams and Stories” provides pajamas and hardcover books to at-risk children in Columbus.

Bring a new set of pajamas for kids ages three to twelve or a new hardcover or chapter book for kids ages three to ten (or both!) to a Columbus Goldfish Swim School location between now and December 21.

We love our Goldfish swim lessons. But we love even more how Goldfish has become part of our family and how Goldfish helps other families around Columbus.
